A Child’s Definition of God

Oh, we use His name often, but often don’t realize that our kids don’t really know what or who this invisible entity is. So, when my second daughter asked me who God is, I tried to come up with an answer that a four-year-old could understand. Simple, short, and (hopefully) something she could comprehend.

Heather:  Mommy, who is God?

Me:  Heather, God is full of love.  He brought you to me when you were a baby. He loves you and cares about you all of the time. He wants you to be healthy and happy and He protects you so you are safe and don’t get sick.

Heather: Oh!  I get it! God is Dr. Hegg!

Note: Dr. Hegg was her pediatrician.

Out of the mouths of babes. God love them.
